THE 6TH ANNUAL WRITERS RETREAT

Featuring

Tom Bird

"Releasing the author Within"

February 26 - 28, 2004

Is your mind constantly flooded with ideas_
Are you constantly jotting down notes on scraps or paper or are you awakened in the middle of the night with a desperate need to write_

Are friends, family members, and/or colleagues continually commenting on how much they love to read your letters or notes_

Every time your eyes fall upon a bestseller list, do you wish your name were on it_

Yet, as passionately as writing sometimes seems to stream out of you, you just don't feel as if you have enough time, or that you're not educated, experienced, or talented enough to succeed as an author_

If you've answered "yes" to any of the above questions, there is an excellent chance that you have a book trying to get out of you, and our "Releasing the author Within Retreat" is the essential guide to the successful birth of your literary babies.

This year we will offer a publishing class combined with "Releasing the author Within Retreat"

How to get published
No matter what it is that you write, if you have ever wanted to see your work in print this class is meant for you. Based on a system that Bird has been offering at universities and colleges all across the country for the last 18 years, and the same one that led him to the sale of his first book to the third largest publisher in the world at the age of 24, this class will answer all the questions and give you the proven guidance you have sought for so long. Some of the topics to be covered include:

  • How to land the perfect literary agent
  • Get paid for your book before you've even written it.
  • How you can make $$$$ as a writer.
  • Why the publishing industry is looking for you.
  • How to protect your work from being stolen.
  • Get published now

Releasing the author Within by Tom Bird

Dear author,
I will be hosting another "Releasing the author Within" retreat in Boca Raton.

The retreat, which is my favorite one to teach, focuses on giving you the deep commitment to begin or finish whatever book that is trying to get out of you. Of our 15 hours together, you will be writing approximately 13. On an average, the students attending this retreat compose over 7800 words, which is normally comparable to one-tenth the length of their books. This, of course, offers them a solid foundation and great confidence and momentum for moving forward.

As the result of the retreat, they will leave with the understanding of what it is that they need to do to finish their books and to live their literary dreams. Besides that, we also focus on the successful completion of their query letter packages, which my office then sends out to literary agents for them. In summary, as the result of the Releasing the author Within retreat, students leave with:

  • A thorough understanding of what they need to do on a day-to-day basis to make their literary dreams come to life now
  • The confidence, through what they experienced and were able to grhtml in class, to do it
  • A collection of colleagues to share and help see them through the experience
  • A firm literary foundation stemming from having approximately one tenth of their books already written
  • Great momentum already established and moving forward
    and
  • A finished query letter that my office will them forward to interested literary agents

This retreat is designed to change your life and jumpstart your literary career. I know no stronger tool. If I did, I would offer that instead. I hope this letter finds you well and also writing...Tom
